Founded in 1962 as the Autistic Children's Aid Society of North London, The National Autistic Society is the leading UK charity for people with autism (including Asperger syndrome) and their families.
The society provide information, support and pioneering services, and campaign for a better world for people with autism.
Autism is a lifelong developmental disability that affects how a person communicates with, and relates to, other people and the world around them.
It is a spectrum condition, which means that, while all people with autism share certain areas of difficulty, their condition will affect them in different ways.
A few dates for the diary folks...
Monday 30th May - Family Fun Day - This is Bank Holiday Monday so why not come along and with free entry, enjoy a bouncy castle, stalls, sponge throw (at various "volunteers") and more. Should be a great day for all the family. See Laura Leslie for further information, or to volunteer to help, on the day.
Saturday 2nd July - The 3, 5, 7 or more Lodges Sponsored Charity Cycle on behalf of our charity, route is from Paisley to Ayr (Approx 40 miles), please contact Jim Campbell for more details.
Sunday 10th July - Annual Golf Day at Balmore Golf Club, bus departs from the lodge at 8am and day includes tea/coffee & hot rolls on arrival, 2 Rounds of Golf, Dinner & Prizes - £70 per person. Last few places remaining, please contact Graham Wyllie to book your place(s).
Friday 29th July - Annual Dance at the Bruce Hotel - £25 per person, please see George Kirk for further details and to book your ticket(s).
